SOUTH LIVERPOOL’S NEW FRESH AND FUN DANCE SCHOOL

Next Step is a fun and creative dance class for boys and girls aged 4-6 years old. Each session is designed to enhance learning, encourage development and inspire creativity.

During the classes children learn great movements, rhythm and musicality all through the use of fun dancing games, exciting props and upbeat dance routines.

All dance sessions are delivered in a safe and supportive environment by Lauren Taylor, a fully qualified dance teacher with over 10 years experience.

All classes are tailored to help develop social skills and build confidence in each child.

As well as developing a high standard of dance technique will also have great fun exploring a different theme every half term including:

  • Braving the Jungle

  • Off to the Circus

  • Around the World in Dance

  • Superheroes

  • The Enchanted Forest

  • Under the Sea

  • Outer Space

  • The Toy Chest

Dancing is one of the oldest and most sociable forms of entertainment. We can help you learn the fun of dance and progress your skills, from your very first step right up to full dance routines.

Dance Classes

WHERE AND WHEN…

Next Step is held in the superb dance studio in the sports centre of St Margaret’s C of E Academy, Aigburth.

Facilities include changing rooms, a waiting area for parents and a car park.

Classes are held every Saturday morning during term time 10:30-11:30am

Performance Opportunities

Throughout the year students will be able to take part in formal and informal performance opportunities.

Uniform

A uniform helps ensure safe practice in dance class and encourages children perform the steps correctly and safely.

  • Black canvas tap shoes

  • Bare feet

  • Leggings or fitted jogging bottoms

  • Next Step Dance T-shirt in Blue, Purple, Pink or Orange

Exams

We will offer the opportunity to work towards IDTA exams as this is a great way to build confidence and mark achievement by gaining a certificate or medal.  IDTA are an internationally recognised awarding body and exams can be taken in Tap, Ballet, Modern Jazz and Theatre Craft.  Exams are optional.

Hairstyle and Jewellery 

For your child’s safety please tie long hair back in a ponytail or bun and make sure no jewellery is worn during class.

About Lauren

dance classes for children liverpoolLauren has always loved the creative and expressive experience that dance can offer and values being able to provide that same opportunity in her classes. Lauren has danced from a very young age and continued her passion by completing professional training and a BA(Hons) from Laban, a renowned dance college in London.

After a brief performing career Lauren’s love for teaching prevailed and she now has nearly 15 years teaching experience in a wide variety of dance styles.

In 2007 Lauren moved to Liverpool and only intended to stay for a couple of years. Inevitably she fell in love with the city and proudly calls it home. Lauren is a registered teacher with IDTA a world leading dance organisation and is also the owner of diddi dance South Liverpool and Halton.

  • CBTS (Certificate in Ballet Teaching) Royal Academy of Dance

  • AIDTA in Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz and Theatre Craft

  • Trained Teacher in Acrobatic Arts
